Humble Beginnings

My journey began in Agra, a place where health and fitness were far from my reality. Growing up, I faced fear, insecurity, trauma, loss, and instability. With no role models to guide me and a lack of awareness about the importance of a balanced lifestyle, I drifted through my early years as a dainty, timid, and somewhat clueless girl, focused merely on surviving each day.

However, everything changed when I was selected as one of the 22 women, out of 60,000 applicants from across India, for the first batch of women officers in the Indian Navy. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of my transformation.

Armed Forces Tenure:
The Spark of My Transformation

My Naval tenure was a complete departure from my previous life — a true baptism by fire. As a small-town girl, I had no exposure to such physical rigours or mental challenges. Thrust into this demanding environment, I was wide-eyed and astonished, compelled to push myself way beyond my physical and mental limits.

It was during this time that I uncovered the depths of my inner strength and resilience, realizing that we all have vast untapped reserves within us, which often emerge when we face challenges and push beyond limits we’ve never encountered before.

This pivotal period laid the groundwork for my newfound awareness of fitness and health. For the first time, I realized that life could be so much more than just surviving; I could dream, aspire, and strive for a very fulfilling existence. The Navy became my passport to freedom, sowing the seeds of metamorphosis that would dramatically shape my future.

Navigating New Horizons:
Transitioning from Navy to Holistic Health

After 7 demanding years in the Armed Forces, I transitioned to civilian life, exploring various roles that reflected my passion for health and well-being. I became a certified fitness coach, furthering my expertise with a Fellowship in Applied Nutrition. This led me to establish my own fitness studio, where I offered rigorous group training sessions and nutrition counselling. However, along the way, I realized that physical fitness and nutrition weren’t sufficient to lead a happy and balanced life.

Despite all these experiences and interventions, a few years down the line, I experienced a dark phase in my life during the COVID epidemic, marked by sickness – leading to perhaps the lowest point in my mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Ironically, this challenging period served as another catalyst for a profound inner change at the soul level. The health challenge sparked a journey of self-awareness and spiritual awakening, which helped me heal myself and reveal to me my true purpose in life. This newfound clarity motivated me to get certified as a health coach, and subsequently, a life transformation coach.

By integrating mindfulness and emotional healing into my programs, I laid the groundwork for my future as a holistic wellness advocate, empowering my clients to make lasting lifestyle changes.

Tanuja has played an extremely important role in not just changing my eating and moving habits but also in shifting my perspective towards life. When I came to her, I had Hyperthyroid, High BP, Osteoarthritis, and borderline diabetes and I was sick of doctor visits because all the medicines would give temporary relief but everything would relapse. Nothing was working, moving around was getting more difficult by the day and I had overwhelming negative feelings about my health.

Tanuja started by listening to me patiently, got me to open up and share how I feel about myself, about the people around me, about my day, and about my relationship with food. She later told me that her idea was to not just gather information to be able to help me, but also to make me reflect.

She advised me on all aspects of wellness one by one, starting with morning routines built around positive thinking – affirmations. That helped a lot in building some self-worth and I started looking after myself more. She made me do small changes in diet that I could sustain. But above all, she urged me to go for walks, be amidst nature, and spend time with myself. That I think has had the biggest impact on my life.

I’m now about 5kgs lighter, and I’m a regular morning walker now. My cardiovascular health is way better, I’m able to walk long distances without running out of breath. I have participated in many running events and have run/walked 5k and even 10k distances. Biggest of all, I could gather the positivity and courage to sign up for a mighty tough challenge of running/walking 2kms EVERYDAY for 100 days. I didn’t just finish this challenge successfully, I finished first in my age group in Delhi NCR region.

Meeting Tanuja has had such a positive influence on my life that I’m way more upbeat about everything. Life isn’t perfect, and more needs to be done, but she has put me on this journey where I have goals, I have things. I want to do, and I wake up looking forward to each day.

I recently completed the 100 Days Challenge by Tanuja Sodhi, which was introduced to me and some of my friends by Nishu Miglani. It was the most amazing and easy-to-understand meal plan I have ever followed. Usually, there’s so much confusion about what to eat and what to avoid, but this diet made it clear which foods are good for the body and which ones are best left out.

Usually, in crash diets, entire food groups are restricted all at once, making it very difficult to stick to, and often leading to breaking the diet. But the best part about Tanuja’s 100 Days Challenge was that food groups were eliminated one by one, making it easier to adjust to healthy eating. Soon, I started enjoying it! A group of us followed the 100 Days Challenge together, and it was super fun because we motivated each other. Even if we cheated on some days, we were motivated to get back on track the next day.

I would recommend everyone try this challenge and see how beneficial it is. Once again, a big thanks to Tanuja Sodhi for creating it!

What i really like about Tanuja as a nutritionist is the way she motivates you to have a healthy lifestyle rather than just focusing on weight loss. I lost 12kgs under her guidance in 4 months by just following her diet and walking (as I couldn’t exercise because of my back problem). Also, my vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels improved without any medication. All thanks to her for making me believe that I could manage my weight without starving.

Tanuja’s diet plans are very nutritionally rich, easy to follow and from the kitchen. Besides the diet, she also guides you on a workout regimen. So, it’s a package which covers input as well as output. I would always go back to her in future too.

Embarking on the Unfetter Your Life course conducted by Life Coach Tanuja Sodhi has been a vastly enriching quest and the best thing that has happened to me in recent times!

It’s an all-encompassing and engaging program, for it includes healing the mind, body and soul by way of incorporating an eclectic mix of efficacious sessions with activities, assignments, breathing exercises, meditation, gratitude journaling, in addition to a number of healthy eating challenges, etc.

The certification has benefitted me in multifarious aspects and has made me a much better version of myself. Having been a non-meditative and a highly temperamental person prior to pursuing this program, I am now a person of calm and composed disposition- all thanks to Unfetter Your Life course. Meditation and gratitude practices (gratitude prayers and journaling) are a part of my daily regimen without fail. They have helped me immensely in calming me during stressful moments. I’ve learned self-care which was an aspect lacking in me. I am way more balanced now than I was earlier. I’m truly glad that I embarked upon this journey of mindfulness and nurturing soul goals. I express my sincerest gratitude to my Life Coach Tanuja Sodhi for turning me into a well-rounded individual.
