When my friend suggested the Phulara Ridge trek this summer, I didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t a name I had come across often, and there wasn’t much buzz online either. But sometimes, the hidden gems can leave a deep mark on your psyche.
This lesser-known trail turned out to be a stunning surprise. The forest was bursting with rhododendrons in full bloom—white and lilac varieties carpeting the landscape like I’d never seen before. The trail opened into numerous expansive and lush meadows where hundreds of sheep roamed freely, adding to the fairytale feel of the place. Some meadows were blanketed in purple wildflowers, others in yellow—a breathtaking natural tapestry.Along the way, we crossed quaint wooden bridges and a stretch of glacier that required slow and mindful walking. All these experiences added a charming touch to the trek.
The ridge walk had its share of thrilling moments, especially where we had to carefully navigate slippery sections and even leap across narrow gaps to continue the trail. For anyone looking for a shorter trek packed with unforgettable beauty, Phulara Ridge is an absolute must-do.
